I Didnt Even Touch Her!

Very little hurts more than being wrongly accused. It’s one of the few things that really ticks me off (I’m even teary right now po). So you open the pot and it just looks like there’re fewer chicken limbs in there than before and without even asking, you smack me and insist on an explanation for why I stole the chicken. But…but…but… I juuuusssst caaaaammeee eeeeeennssssiiiiiidddee, I haven’t even tooouuuuuccchheeddd theeeee ppoooooooottt.

It’s too painful fam. Just imagining being falsely accused is even working me up right now. I’ve always hated false accusations, but I never thought for a moment that someone from B.C era felt the exact same way. It’s like finding out that Samuel was a Scrabble junkie! Or, or, or Elijah loved kelewele! It’s a very special feeling.

Let me give you a short background. So Saul and Jonathan die, David mourns even though it’s clear that it’s finally his time to become king! Well, he does become king, but only of Judah because some guy called Abner, who was commander of Saul’s army made Ishbosheth (one of Saul’s sons) king of Israel.

Abner just difficult the issues for David because of his unflinching loyalty to Saul’s family.

Ishbosheth, you not try kraaaaaa…

Soon after, Ishbosheth started feeling guy guy and he did to Abner the one thing I cant stand. Oh, Abner was there noorr, Ishbosheth came to accuse him of sleeping with one of Saul’s side chics called Rizpah. Herrhhh, the thing paaaiined Abner! The Rizpah chic kraa, he hadn’t seen her cleavage before and now the boy he made king is accusing him of chopping her.

Remembering all he’d done in loyal service to Saul and now this boy made this false accusation pain him the more. Because if at least he’d mia her once po, like it’ll be cool, but Rizpah wasn’t even his type; he and his boss don’t chase the same babes.

So in fact, the thing pained Abner aaaaannhh that he suddenly remembered that God had promised David the whole kingdom and he told the king “…may God strike me dead if I don’t make this come true.” Chaii, Ishbosheth was so afraid that he could not say a word.

That was it. Abner’s allegiance changed immediately and he ported to the David network. Eventually Ishbosheth lost the throne and it all started with one false accusation. It’s painful o; just as painful then as it is now. So be very sure before you accuse someone of doing something. Don’t just point fingers because you can. Don’t believe everything you hear, be absolutely sure, because if you didn’t see me stealing the meat but insist I did, we’re done.

Don’t lose valuable friendships over baseless accusations. Let them be innocent until proved guilty, because the price of one false accusation could be the ‘kingdom’ you rule with so much delight.

PS: Don’t keep! Share…& then subscribe, okay :-)?

It’s interesting you talk about this now…I forgot how it felt till I had a very rude awakening, an unpleasant reminder of how it feels to be accused wrongly. Now I know better. Check, double check and check again before.

This happens a lot. Lol. Especially in relationships. For example, you know you called your woman…naah she says you didn’t. She can’t find your missed call, hence you dont care. Lol. Or you just gave her friend a ride and she called to say thanks… “Naah, you are lying…why would you even give her a lift to Prampram? You are up to something”. My personal favourite,.. “I saw on online around 2am, what were you doing?”. You know you were asleep but saying nothing won’t get you off that accusation. Good piece. Thumbs up

Ben, you just made a Bible story stick with me. Good word.
Even when I’m falsely accused of something quite trivial, the way it pains me eh. I’ve therefore learnt to give people the benefit of the doubt. They are innocent until proven guilty or they until they admit guilt…

Good one Ben👍 . Thank you. And I really like the way you narrate Bible stories in our everyday language. Makes it soooo relatable!
