2015’s Top 10 posts [Voice Note!]

Guess What?!!! You can either listen to the post or read it. I suggest you do both because even though the audio is fine, the text has links you can click on to send you to the specific post I’m talking about, and that’s a very easy way of checking them out. So I’ve also inserted the audio at the end of the post.

Disclaimer: It wasnt professionally done. We are all trying small small, so dont judge me :-). Mark the effort not the thing ankasa.

This year has been exciting and so eventful! We’ve crossed more milestones than I imagined possible, like last week, we crossed 3k facebook fams and 1.2k email subscribers. As for the weekly turn out….dont go there. Lol, but certainly all the glory is rightly God’s; even a blind eye can see His writings on the wall. And you, you’ve been amazing. All the comments you made and that one time you sent an email, I seeee youuuuuuu. The whole bunch of new fams discovered Goldinwords because a friend shared a post on facebook or in some whatsapp group or somewhere else, and that’s proof of your awesomeness.

So not all the 60+ posts that Tele and I put up this year got the same level of attention and this last post tries to figure out what’s so special about the 10 that topped the list.

Starting from number 10 is ‘Meet the silliest dad ever!’ I don’t know if it’s the picture slide show of kids painting their dads that made it such a hit. But this post was about seeing God in the light of a truly hip, loving father who’s desperate to be played with. He’s the Army General and Board Chairman to all of creation, but he’s yo yo yo yo daddy to us

Then the Smirnoff Rapist I and Smirnoff Rapist II came at number 9 and 8 respectively. I really like that story, especially because in the end, well…you know what happened in the end. It’s amazing that a true story can be this interesting. Still disappointed in that guy though; seemingly perfect gentleman, trying to take advantage of a seemingly innocent woman with Smirnoff ice, tweaaa.

At number 7 is the first part of The Perfect Mistress. This story, this stoorrryy, thiiiiissss stooorry! Chai I love it for more reasons than I can divulge. The story starts from Mandy’s perspective. It begins; When she was in JSS, Mandy’s PE teacher took more delight in watching her play ampe than in organizing extra classes…” and ends at a point where Mandy has almost succeeded in seducing Mr. Crentsil, the millionaire married man she wants to keep.

In ‘Mind Games –The Story I’ve Never Told’, -number 6- I reveal a deep personal experience that changed the trajectory of my life and influenced what I write now. It’s probably the funniest most serious thing I’ve written. I encountered the one thing I’d lived my whole life steering clear of. Then I end it by showing how important it is to let nothing fool you or make you think your prayers don’t work…it so does!

Then at number 5, I write about one of the most interesting developments I’ve witnessed recently; Hard Guys Praying For Good Wives.’ “…Now hard guys spotting fine girls at a prayer meetings be like “shabala shabala shabala aaahh! Mmmhhmmmhh this vessel is tooo fiiinee eeehhh! Let her be, let her be, let her be the one eeehh!” Then they spot a ring on her finger and be like “Gaaaad, this must be just fashion now. Faada, let that be for just fashionnn! I command it!!” Meanwhile, what should the dolu guys do?

The Lust Deception at number four was a hit! It’s the story of a spirito guy with untamed passions, the comic skills he applied in buying a porn CD and what was actually on the CD when he slotted it in his laptop at home. The core message in this one is about how the blades of the things we do in secret gradually cut off the eagle’s wings that would have taken us to the mountain tops. In one line, it’s about not contaminating the glory on our lives with the itch in our groins or the greed in our hearts.

Then as for this number 3 post, it just proved how kokonsa you guys are. As soon as you saw the ‘My 1st Random Kiss’ title p3, you were like “Yieeeeeee, I want to know how Ben moffed the gerh!” Oooo boy it was something else! But at the end of it all, the post is about not troubling trouble to trouble you. Me I like doing that, so I’d know. It was the top post for many weeks, until this number two post came along;

Number 2 is the second part of The Perfect Mistress story, with the sub title; Krobo Sutra! It picks up from where Mandy was about to Sutra-lize Mr. Crentsil and how he narrowly escaped into the arms of his perfect mistress; his wife. The only way he’d managed to keep from sleeping around was to marry the best example of a woman he would have fallen for if he was married to someone else. As for me, I am seriously pursuing that agenda paaah. If you didn’t see it then, you should read it now. You’ll love it.

Theeen at nuummmmbberrrr ooonneeeeee #drum roolllll, is the one post that ended up being shared 1.3k on facebook and by hundreds of others on different platforms. In fact it went so viral, some friend bi of mine forwarded it to me as a post someone had written and she thought I’d find interesting. I was so passionate about ‘Made By A Woman’. I gave it my everything because I sincerely believe what it says.

‘Made By A Woman’ is about understanding how influential the woman you spend your life with is to what becomes of you. Real man doesn’t see his woman as an accessory, she’s an amplifier through which the feeble tone of his ambition can be heard the world over. You should definitely definitely read this again.

So that wraps it up for the top 10 posts of 2015. I feel even more amazing posts dancing kpanlogo in my fingers in eager anticipation of 2016. It’s going to be an awesome year fam, 2016 will make 2015 look like a dress rehearsal. Tele and I hope you’ll stick around for the ride. I’m a junkie for your comments and feedback. It’s always going to be an ‘Us’ thing, this blog. Us.

O and watch out for our TieSwag.com too. In just the one month it has been around, it’s proven that it is so so so viable commercially. Next year, we’ll accessorize corporate gentlemen all over Ghana with one mens fashion online shop. So many of you ordered and even more said kind encouraging things. Thank you 🙂

God is with us. We cannot fail. #OluwaIsInvolved. O and I have a surprise for you next year….she’s something else!

    Hi BenJ, i agree with the top ten……….
    My personal favourite was number six. I think it took a lot of guts for you to write it and it was quite different from all the others…. More grease to your elbows in 2016. I sense that we would be super-thrilled and blessed by even more powerful pieces.
